TOTAL WRECK: The badly damaged motorcycle and car due to the impact of the collision
SARIKEI: A motorcyclist was killed while his pillion rider seriously injured after they collided head-on with a Kenari car at Merudu/Meruton road, about 5km from here about 7.30am yesterday.
Sources said that the motorcycle was ridden in the direction of Merudu/Meruton road while the car was headed to the town.
The motorcyclist, identified as Wong Ching Siong, 23 and his pillion rider, only identified as an Iban from Rumah Saba in Sentebu were sent to Sarikei Hospital in an ambulance. Wong was pronounced dead soon after arrival.
The seriously injured pillion rider was referred to Sibu Hospital the same morning.
The traffic police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
