BYE BYE CROCS: Zamri leaving Sarawak for Selangor PKNS.

KUCHING: Hot shot striker Zamri Morshidi has parted ways with the Crocs and his move to club side Selangor PKNS was recently confirmed by the man himself.

Zamri, who scored some crucial and spectacular goals for Sarawak in the MSL, is keen to improve himself and had signed with the club side last week.

He told The Borneo Post that he was offered a two year deal but had only inked for a one year term.

“My move is for me to challenge myself in a new competitive environment and improved what I lacked during the 2012 MSL season,” said Zamri who added that the move was one of his biggest career decisions.

The striker’s contract with the Crocs will expire next month and Zamri revealed that his move to PKNS was made with a heavy heart despite the handsome offer.

“If money was my main concern, I would have taken the big offer from Super League champions Kelantan last year but I chose to remain and played for the beloved Crocs.

“However, it was my own mission to see how far I can go in this field,” informed Zamri.

The move by the former skipper is the first time for him to play for another team after serving the Crocs’ President Cup squad since he was still 19, and playing the chief destroyer role of the senior team since 2005.

Zamri will be in the same squad with another Sarawakian who recently made the move from Terengganu, Reeshafiq Alwi and will be joined by former Sime Darby import striker Patrick Ronaldinho.

“I am still interested to make a return to the Crocs in future, and I am also considering coaching as a career path when the time comes for me to hang my playing boots,” said Zamri.
