KUCHING: Sarawak Dayak Filmmaking Association (SDFA) is embarking on a statewide door-to-door membership drive campaign, starting from institutions of higher learning.

The association, in a press statement, said the objective of such a campaign was to increase membership and actively promote filmmaking as a part time career for students.

SDFA is targeting 300 new members in the first year through this membership drive in order to qualify for a special grant from National Film Agency (Finas).

In addition, with its goal of promoting the sustainability of the association, it is encouraging the younger generation to join its effort to develop the filmmaking industry in the state.

SDFA held a two-day membership campaign from Oct 10 at Masterskill Sarawak Campus, where the students were entertained with movies produced by local production houses, talent casting and a motivational talk on a career in the film industry.
