JOHOR BAHARU: A man claiming to be an agent of the Malaysian Ex-Policemen Association (PBPM) was charged in the Magistrates’ Court here yesterday with four counts of cheating, involving RM36,000.

However, Rafizal Ahmad Razi, 35, pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

On the first count, he is charged with cheating a company director into handing RM5,000, purportedly to purchase jerseys for a football team, but such a purchase was not made.

The offence was allegedly committed about 4pm at a shop in Tampoi on June 26 this year.

For the second and third charge, Rafizal is alleged to have received a HSBC and RHB cheque, for RM14,000 and RM7,000, respectively, from the company director, purportedly for purchase of camels for a function at the Johor palace, when in fact such a purchase was never made nor was there such a function.
