SIBU: A 34-year-old man was ordered by the Magistrates’ Court here yesterday to be released on RM5,000 bail with two sureties after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of having stolen property in his possession.
As bail condition, Eii Ming Ong was ordered to deposit with the court a sum of RM2,000 in the form of fixed deposit bank certificate.
Eii was said to be in possession of a stolen motorcycle worth RM4,820 at Cross Road here about 10.30pm on Oct 16.
The offence is framed under section 411 of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to five years upon conviction.
The case is scheduled for further mention on Nov 29.
