Driver trapped after car spins out of control

KUCHING: A youth was lucky not to suffer serious injuries after he was trapped inside his car in MJC Batu Kawa early yesterday morning.

In the 3am incident, the 27-year-old victim was believed to be speeding when he lost control of his car and hit the road divider causing his car to flip and land heavily on its roof.

He was heading for Desa Wira where he lives.

Road users who witnessed the accident immediately alerted the authorities. Personnel from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Station later removed the victim from the car.

He was sent to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.

In another incident, two brothers, aged 16 and 20, were rushed to SGH from Asajaya Clinic following an accident that happened around 10.30pm on Saturday.

The brothers, who were travelling on a motorcycle, collided with another motorcycle near a coconut-processing factory in Asajaya. They were on their way home after attending a funeral of a relative.

The other motorcyclist, in his 50s, was treated as an outpatient at the clinic.

The police are investigating.
