AXA Asia sets to double regional health business by 2015

KUALA LUMPUR: AXA Asia, the financial protection and wealth management company, is set to double the size of its regional health business between year-end and 2015.

In a statement yesterday, AXA Asia said to deliver this expansion across its eight regional markets, it had actively invested in broadening the range and depth of its product offerings, while in parallel building and strengthening health-specific capabilities both regionally and locally.

“AXA Asia also builds on the capabilities of the worldwide AXA Group, which is a top five international health player, offering healthcare solutions with a global reach,” it said.

It said its latest regional health advertising campaigns were now being aired in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand and Indonesia.

“The campaigns are part of a broader strategic emphasis by AXA Asia to expand its footprint in the Asia healthcare industry.

“Against the backdrop of Asia’s booming demographics, a prevailing lack of adequate health insurance coverage across Asia, health represents major growth opportunities for the company,” it said.

AXA Asia said building on its commitment to “redefining standards”, the campaign shed light on the company’s “New World of Health” portfolio of health protection products.

“The ‘New World of Health’ campaign consists primarily of two commercials, each aiming to address issues identified as of concern to customers in Asia,” it said.

AXA Asia said the ‘Along my life’ campaign launched for Malaysian market depicted the issues faced by the high cost of medical bills and the impact those have on the family.

The company said this was particularly relevant to Asia, where family was an extended family unit, with different generations often financially supporting others when an illness struck.

“To address this insight, AXA offers a medical plan that provides unlimited medical cover that allows access to annual medical coverage to make multiple claims throughout one’s life stages,” it said. — Bernama
