KEEN INVESTORS: South Korean ICT industry is looking in opening up its business in Malaysia as they are taking proactive approach to organise business missions.

KUALA LUMPUR: The South Korean ICT industry is keen to explore the potential of using Malaysia as the base for the Asean and Middle East markets through the ICT business missions to the country.

The National ICT Association of Malaysia (Pikom) said the South Korean ICT Industry viewed Malaysia as a relatively low-cost location with world-class infrastructures and facilities.

“The South Korean ICT industry has been taking a proactive approach to organise business missions to Malaysia to explore the growing business potential here,” it said in a statement.

PIKOM said the Korean Internet Security Agency (Kisa) and the Korean Association of Information and Telecommunication (KAIT) are leading a delegation of 15 South Korean ICT companies with cutting edge technologies to Kuala Lumpur to look for suitable partners from Malaysia and other countries in this region.

Both organisations are under the auspices of the Korean Communication Commission, it said.

The one-day event, to be held on Nov 1, is managed by EJ Resources Bhd and supported by Pikom.

EJ Resources’ managing director Khairul Nizae said the objective of the programme was to create a strategic business-to-business (B2B) platform for ICT-related vendors, solutions and service providers from South Korea and Malaysia and ICT-dependent organisations.

He said the B2B platform would provide participants with opportunities to create partnerships for ICT-related market opportunities in South Korea, Malaysia, Asean and the Middle East markets. — Bernama
