TAWAU: The parents of two pre-school pupils lodged a police report at the police station here after their children were assaulted by the parent of another pupil in a school compound on Wednesday.

It is believed that the father found his son quarreling with the two pupils and this led him to intervene by twisting and pulling the ears of the two kids until they were slightly injured.

The two pupils are traumatized and are refusing to go to school because of fear.

The father of one of the injured kids, Resuhud Suaib, 28, said the three pupils were classmates, adding that the parent should have acted maturely by advising the kids not to quarrel and should not have been aggressive.

The mother of the other injured child, Sarifah Rugayah, 45, agreed with Resuhud and urged the school to enhance security.

She said the school should be held responsible as it happened in the school compound even though the incident happened after school hours.

Strict action should be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening in schools, she said.

“I’m worried for my son as he refuses to go to school due to trauma from the aggressive action of the man,” said Sarifah, adding that all parties should be concerned and such incident should not happen again.

It was learnt that the man who assaulted the two children had apologized to the victims’ parents at the police station, and a meeting was also held with the school management on Thursday.
