SANDAKAN: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tinusa has become the third secondary school in the district to be declared refuse-free in conjunction with a programme organised by the Sandakan Municipal Council (SMC).

The two others are Sekolah Menengah (SM) Yu Yuan and SM Tiong Hwa.

SMC, the Sandakan Nursing College and Hongkong Bank have also been declared refuse-free as well.

SMC president Datuk James Wong said in his speech declaring SMK Tinusa as refuse-free that the programme was an effort to ensure that the district was refuse-free and to enhance its status in line with tourism.
