BATU PAHAT: Having been moved to flood relief centres twice did not stop two siblings from sitting for their Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations yesterday.

For Nor Emylika Azmi, 17, from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Datuk Sulaiman, Parit Sulung, the floods did not present a distraction as she had prepared for the exams early on.

“Before this we were moved to a flood relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Tiga Serangkai, Parit Sulung, from Oct 28 to Nov 1.

“Upon returning home, we were forced to move again after our house was flooded due to heavy rainfall last Friday but this did not disturb my preparation,” she said when met at the flood relief centre here yesterday.

Nor Emylika is among 115 flood evacuees from 34 families who were relocated to the flood relief centre four days ago.

She said she was given a special room at the centre where she could revise with her sister, Nor Fazidatul Isnina Azmi, 18, who is sitting for her STPM exam at the same school.

Nor Emylika, who is one of 270 students sitting for the SPM exam at Sekolah Menengah Datuk Sulaiman, also expressed confidence at being able to score 9As in the exam. — Bernama
