SIBU: Police have new leads in their investigation into last Saturday’s brutal shooting at a café in Lane 7A2 Pahlawan Road which killed a woman.

From a closed-circuit TV (CCTV) footage in the vicinity, the cops noted that a maroon-colour Proton Wira first appeared at 11.53am, with what is believed to be four men inside.

The car passed the café thrice, and three minutes later the shooting occurred.

However, the footage failed to capture the actual shooting as the camera view was blocked by trees.

According to a police spokesman, 44-year-old Law Leh Kuong, who was shot dead, and her husband, popularly known as Ah Kang, were regular customers at the cafe and at a nearby coffee shop.

Leh Kuong, her husband, his male cousin and wife, along with a male friend, were sitting at the same table at the five-foot-way of the cafe when the incident unfolded.

One shot was fired at the group from within 20 feet, killing Leh Kuong and slightly injuring her husband and his cousin’s wife.

It was believed that there were many customers inside the cafe then.

Police found one pellet and a dozen gunshot marks on the notice board, on a column, and the sun blind.

A post-mortem will be conducted on Leh Kuong today.

She will be buried at the Nirvana Memorial Park tomorrow.
