Countdown begins for SEA HOG Sarawak Rally

KUCHING: Members from Malaysia chapter of Harley Owners’ Group will take centre stage and blaze the roads of Sarawak during the coming 2nd South East Asia Harley Owners’ Group (SEA HOG) Rally to be held from Nov 15 onwards.

To date, 160 owners from around the world including China have confirmed taking part in the exciting event which will cover a distance of 1,800 km.

The route will take them from Kuching to Miri, Brunei and back again to Kuching over a period of nine days and ends on Nov 23.

Sarawak is indeed honour to be chosen to host the riders and such event has the potential to attract more tourists to come here through good words of mouth from the participants and media coverage.

During their stay in Kuching, a two-day programme including a grand parade through the city streets had been planned where the riders will experience the night scenes here as well as a tour the following day.

After spending the first two days in Kuching, there will be a flag-off ceremony as the convoy will move on to Sibu, stopping in Sri Aman for lunch.

On the fourth day, the convoy will be heading north on to Miri where the riders will spend a night before moving on to Brunei for a special event by HOG Brunei chapter (HOGB), dealers and local authorities.

Early this year, HOGB members together with their counterparts from Ikatan Motor Besar Indonesia (IMBI) visited Sarawak in conjunction with the recent 13th Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival which ended in Pontianak, West Kalimantan Indonesia on June 10.

For SEA HOG riders, after visiting Brunei they will be heading to Bintulu and taking on a route through picturesque countryside before spending the night at a hotel there.

On the seventh day of the rally, the riders will travelling a distance of 600km on their way back to Kuching where they will be staying at the Damai Beach Resort and to experience a special theme dinner at the resort.
