TAWAU: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) said a factory at Jalan Hotspring here was inaccurately billed RM58,000 for the month of August.

Its Senior General Manager (Asset Management), Ir Ahmad Fuad Md Kasim, said SESB had contacted the consumer, Mr Chia, and explained him the mistake at its office here on November 5.

A new amended bill was issued to Chia on that day.

Chia, the person-in-charge of the factory, was shocked when he received the bill on August 29.

The 46-year-old complainant said that he had received his electricity bills and made payment every month and the amount was between RM100 to RM300.

When the bill dated August 6, 2012 arrived, it shot up to RM58,048.00 and the meter reading was 190,210.

Ahmad Fuad apologised for any inconvenience caused to Chia.

He urged SESB customers facing similar problem or have enquiries to call toll free 1-800-88-1135.
