KOTA KINABALU: A politician, with a ‘datuk’ title, was RM32,000 poorer after his double-storey house in Taman Fulliwa, Menggatal near here was broken into on Wednesday.

Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun said the politician, in his 40s, found the house in a mess when he and his family returned at about 11pm.

Jauteh said the victim also said that 86 of his .38 pistol bullets were missing, besides cash of RM5,000, mobile phone, laptop computer, jewelery and wrist watches.

“The victim had lodged a report at the Mengggatal police station at about 1am today.

“Based on our initial investigation, we believe more than one suspects were involved in the break-in,” he told a press conference here yesterday. — Bernama
