KUCHING: Overseas Seafood Restaurant Sdn Bhd (Overseas Seafood Restaurant) has launched a restaurant at Kuching Square near Kuching International Airport featuring culinary delights for seafood lovers and connoisseurs of other delicacies.

At the launching ceremony yesterday, managing partner Allen Lim told The Borneo Post that the newly-opened premises taking up seven shop lots came at an initial start-up capital of about RM1 million.

“The current main dining area has 35 tables taking up five lots but we are also in the process of building private function rooms in the remaining two lots which can cater up to another 100 diners.”

Lim highlighted that the restaurant which did not serve pork would feature various specialty dishes such as fish, lobsters, oysters and mantis prawns; some of these items would be brought in fresh from Sabah.

In addition, he revealed the management’s plan to fly in a chef from China specialising in barbequed goose, Beijing duck and roasted chicken, to name a few. Vegetarian dishes would also be available upon request, he added.

Meanwhile, company partner Liew Shark Sen noted that patrons from all walks of life would be welcome at the restaurant in addition to special functions such as wedding banquets, anniversary celebrations as well as birthday parties.
