MIRI: Local developer Homelite Development Sdn Bhd will develop the 30-acre New Kimanis Town Project in Sabah through its subsidiary New Kimanis Town Sdn Bhd.
The township is the only commercial area within the Kimanis industrial zone.
“New Kimanis Town is a new milestone for Homelite, but most importantly, it is a once in a lifetime investment opportunity, which we would like to offer our loyal customers in Miri,” said Homelite Development Sdn Bhd managing director Wong Su Chung in a press release.
“With all the experience we attained from this industry, Homelite would take the pioneer position in taking the giant first leap to transform Kimanis of Sabah into Bintulu of Sarawak.
“We have benefited from oil and gas industries and now it is the turn of Sabah to move towards this direction as Petronas has invested billions in projects for the oil and gas industry in Sabah,” he added.
The New Kimanis Town Project will be developed in two phases.
Phase 1 involves six three-storey corner lots and 69 two-storey intermediate lots for shops or offices, while Phase 2 will see 22 four-storey corner units and 87 three-storey intermediate units.
There will also be a shopping mall as well as hotel and serviced apartments, which will capitalise on trainees and course attendees, who are expected to converge in Kimanis for work and training at the nearby Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal and Kimanis Petroleum Training Centre.
A two-storey food court will be one of the main features of this Homelite space, next to an eight-storey office block, which has first, second and third floor parking bays.
There will be double-laned roads measuring 7.3 metres in width compared to the usual 6.7 metres, as well as 767 parking spaces.
The New Kimanis Town Porject will be launched at the Homelite Resort show house, which is directly opposite Miri Airport, tomorrow (Nov 11) starting 9am.
