KUCHING: Host Sibu emerged as the biggest winners at the Sarawak Inter-Division Boys/Girls Under -16 and Under -14 Volleyball Championship in Sibu recently.
Sibu won three out of four categories contested at the Rajang Volleyball Court.
It was a close fight in the Boys Under 16 final which saw Sibu beating Mukah 3-0 (25-19, 25-23 and 25-13.)
In the play-off for third and fourth placing, Meradong beat Miri 3-1 (27-25, 18-25, 25-14 and 25-11).
The Sibu girls winded up their campaign in the Under -14 by beating Miri 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, and 25-13) to record four wins and clinch the title.
Runners-up were Meradong while Miri and Sarikei finished third and fourth respectively.
Earlier in the week, Sibu A won the Girls Under-16 title, while the second to fourth spots were occupied by Meradong, Sibu B and Miri respectively.
Meradong prevented a Sibu sweep by taking the Boys U-14 crown when they beat Mukah 3-0 (25-21, 25-21 and 25-17) on Thursday.
