KUALA LUMPUR: Former Information Ministry secretary-general Datuk Zawawi Mahmuddin died of liver cancer at the Damansara Specialist Hospital, near here, yesterday.
He was 67.
His family members were by his side when he died at about 11.30am, according to his eldest son, Badrul Hisham, 41.
He said that Zawawi was admitted on Sunday.
Zawawi’s remains were buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery after Asar prayer, following religious rites at At-Taqwa Mosque in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, here.
