SEA HOG charity auction raked RM82,000

KUCHING: The charity auction held in conjunction with the ongoing South East Asia Harley Owners’ Group (SEA HOG) Sarawak tour held at Kuching Civic Centre yesterday raked in RM82,000 to be distributed among local charitable organisations.

The much awaited auction of the 110th Anniversary edition of Harley Davidson Electra Glide® Ultra Limited motorcycle itself brought in RM40,000.

The proud owner of the lean mean machine is Zulkifli Khalid, the chief executive officer of Zulkifli Bamadhaj Sdn Bhd from Johor who successfully bidded with a price of RM230,000.

Earlier on, the auction of two customised SEA HOG jackets plus other memorabilia raked in RM42,000 and RM8,000 was collected when the hat was passed around among the 256 SEA HOG members.

Courtesy of Naza Prestige Bikes Sdn Bhd, the retail value worth of the motorcycle is RM256, 000 and the bidding started at RM190,000 because it was the cost price.

Only the difference in the sale price is to be donated for charity.

The group will now head to Sibu today and will be stopping by at Lachau pepper farm for a short visit before proceeding to Sri Aman for lunch.

They are expected to arrive at Sibu in the evening and to be feted to dinner at RH Hotel courtesy of RH group.

The total distance to be covered in the third day of SEA HOG’s Sarawak tour is over 430 km before they proceed to Miri tomorrow for a journey of 450 km.
