Two siblings among three charged with housebreaking

IPOH: Three man, including two siblings, pleaded not guilty at the Magistrates’ Court here yesterday to housebreaking and theft charges, involving various items worth RM2,902.

The charge was read to them before Magistrate Nur Melati Diana Abd Wahab.

Zuhairi Zakaria, 29, and his brother, Zizan, 22, from Pulai Tiga, Kampung Gajah, together with Muhammad Hafeez Mohd Azman, 18, from Desa Tambun, were accused of breaking into Ben Exotic Pet Shop at No 488, Jalan Besar Gunong, Rapat, belonging to Chung Weng Kee, 45.

They were also accused of stealing a Dell laptop computer, two donation boxes, two bags of Smart Heart cat food, two cat baskets, a Bengal cat, a Siamese cat and cash of RM300.

The trio are facing up to 14 years in jail if convicted.

The court set bail at RM5,000 in one surety each and fixed Dec 18 for remention. Deputy public prosecutor K Kavitha prosecuted. — Bernama
