LAWAS: The highly fancied Perumahan FC emerged champion at the U-15 Youth Futsal Championship organised by Mega Futsal over the weekend.
In the final match, Perumahan FC defeated Teganang Junior FC 3-2 through a penalty kick.
The champion received RM150 plus jerseys and their prizes were presented by the manager of Mega Futsal Lawas, Councillor Liaw Ho Peng.
Third and fourth placing respectively went to LT Jerung FC and Pasukan Gaya United FC.
A total of 12 teams took part in the championship.
According to Liaw, the competition was held to promote the game among youths and to encourage them to take part in healthy activities.
“Besides promoting healthy lifestyle, we are optimistic with the encouraging participation, it could also enhance the 1Malaysia spirit among the youths in this district,” he said.
As such he urged more youths to take part in future championship to enhance closer rapport among them and promote the games so as to scout potential players to represent Lawas in future competitions.
