BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A group of some 20 students attended a holiday programme called “Step-Up”, organised by Mindquest Tuition School. The one-day event, which was conducted by Mindquest instructors at the Health Promotion Centre in Berakas, ended with the presentation of certificates of participation, Borneo Bulletin reported.

“Empowering youths for success in school and life” was the motto for the event. The learning themes presented during the whole-day event included teamwork, problem-solving and goal-setting. Through various team, activities, the students took part in fun activities, while at the same time applying concepts that they had learnt in schools and developing good habits at an early stage.

By stepping up, students learn how to make a shift from `doing just enough’ to ‘giving their 100 per cent’ and from `always waiting to be told what to do next’ to ‘being proactive’. The Step-Up programme is planned to be an annual event during school holidays. In 2013, Mindquest aims to offer the programme to primary and secondary schools in Brunei.
