Court sets Dec 12 to mention case of ‘Datuk Seri’ and son causing trader’s death

PETALING JAYA: The Sessions Court here yesterday set Dec 12 for mention of a case involving a ‘Datuk Seri” and his son charged with causing the death of a trader.

Judge Rozina Ayob set the date to provide time for prosecution, represented by deputy public prosecutor Lee Keng Fat, to obtain the post mortem and chemist reports.

Datuk Seri Jaafar Shaari, 50, and his son, Ahmad Jiwari Jaafar, 23, are jointly charged with committing the offence on Azahari Sidek, 44, at Downtown The Mines, Seri Kembangan, Selangor, between 3.40am and 5.30am on Aug 13 this year.

They are charged under Section 304(b) of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34.

The charge carries a maximum imprisonment of 10 years or fine or both, if found guilty. — Bernama
