SRI AMAN: Forty-two local registered contractors attended a four-day Contractor Business Management Course organised by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in collaboration with  M-arcorp Enterprise Sdn Bhd at the civic centre here from Nov 21.

A consultant from M-arcorp Enterprise, Mashan Ahmad Rais who conducted the course said the course was a prerequisite for contractors to renew or apply for registration with CIDB.

Besides, the course was required for new contractors to apply for registration with CIDB, he explained.

Upon completion of the 4-day course, participants were given certificates of attendance which came with 40 Contractor Continuous Development (CCD) points required to renew their registration, Mashan said.

The other objectives of the course were to train the contractors to establish a business network, usage of ICT, marketing, company profile, compiling report, analysis and exposure to basic  book keeping.

The course conducted in Bahasa Malaysia required a minimum attendance of 15 participants and a maximum of 30 at any one time, he said.

The fee is RM200 each for participants from companies registered with CIDB and RM400 each for participants from non-registered companies.

According to Mashan, the participants were registered CIDB contractors ranging from Grade 1 to 7.
