BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A total of 13 young scout members from Scout team 2017 of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School (SMRIPAS) in Birau were awarded with scout badges, Borneo Bulletin reported.
Nine members received the Scout Standard while the other four received the Advanced Scout Standard. The badges were presented by the school’s Chief Scout, Cikgu Md Noor bin Hj Yasin.
Present at the event was Skipper Awg Hamir bin Haji Liman, the Acting Scout Commissioner of Scout Association of Tutong District and two scout leaders from the school – Cikgu Teo Kee Huei and Cikgu Norazezan binti Budin.
Those who were awarded with the Scout Standard are those who had passed in several skills tests such as camping, cooking and roping as well as basing knowledge on the needs and regulations of being a scout member.
Meanwhile, those awarded with Advanced Scout Standard have had their skills tested in tasks such as covering a 16km hike, cooking and First Aid.
