UMS staff urged to cultivate innovation, creativity

KOTA KINABALU: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) staff have been urged to cultivate innovation and creativity to ensure that the university continues to move forward in terms of its delivery system and service to clients.

UMS vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Mohd Harun Abdullah said efforts to inculcate innovation and creativity were timely and should be put into practice as it would give added value to quality services.

“Indirectly, it will create teamwork and foster positive values and ethics,” he said in his speech during the launch of the 3rd UMS Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) Convention at the UMS main campus in Likas, near here yesterday. The text of his speech was read out by UMS Registrar Datuk Abdullah Mohamad Said.

Practising and inculcating innovation and creativity was also in line with the objectives of the national transformation programme in bringing about change as well as stepping up the momentum in delivering service to clients immediately, Mohd Harun said. — Bernama
