Finland beauties to promote KK

KOTA KINABALU: Ten beautiful Finnish ladies toured the city centre yesterday as part of the Miss Bikini Finland Grand Final Tour here.

Organized by Waterfront Urban Development Group, the event is part of an incentive trip for the 10 winners from Finland, who will be touring the state capital to share their memorable experience with their people back in Finland.

Waterfront Urban Development Sdn Bhd director Johnson Koh said the beauties will be visiting all the popular tourist destinations in and around Kota Kinabalu from yesterday till 10.

“Their trip will be made into a reality show to be aired in Finland TV Channel early next year while Sabah Tourism Board (STB) will be undertaking the TV production for this reality show,” he said, adding that the tourist destinations for the whole visit was chosen and recommended by STB.

The organizer of the tour is Miss Bikini Limited in Hong Kong and the person-in-charge is Anika Hiltunen from Finland.

The Miss Bikini Finland began in 2002 and in 2010, the contest was held in Spain.

This year, the organizer decided to have the contest outside of Europe and in two legs, namely in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

According to Koh, the Miss Bikini Finland Grand Final Tour had chosen Kota Kinabalu due to the country’s beautiful beaches and environment.

“The event will also give an opportunity to the 10 finalists to explore the natural beauty of Kota Kinabalu and thus promote our country in Europe,” he said.
