KUALA LUMPUR: Umno did not run out of issues when it criticised the opposition during the Umno General Assembly 2012 last week as the annual assembly is a platform for party members to seek clarification on any issue manipulated by the opposition.

Bandar Tun Razak Umno Youth head Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar said the party assembly was a platform for leaders to give clarifications and the people had the right to listen for themselves the information given.

Criticising the opposition claims that Umno had run out of issues when it slammed the opposition during the party assembly last week, he said the opposition attacked Umno and the Barisan Nasional (BN) every day through ceramah by slandering Umno wherever they went.

“The party assembly represents the platform for the people to seek actual clarification. All the allegations made by the opposition all this while are not true, that’s why the people needs to know the lies hurled by the opposition.

“The question that Umno is bankrupt of issues does not arise at all,” he said when contacted by Bernama yesterday.

Rizalman was commenting on the statement by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang that Umno had run out of issues when almost the whole of the policy and adjournment speeches by Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the general assembly attacked the leader of the opposition pact. — Bernama
