GEORGE TOWN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to announce affordable housing projects for the people of Penang during his working visit to the state tomorrow.
The announcement of the projects, under the 1Malaysia People’s Housing Programme (PR1MA), is proof of the federal government’s concern in the matter after the DAP-led state government allegedly failed to implement such a programme.
PR1MA Berhad chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias said the locations identified for the PR1MA programme in the state were Timur Laut, Balik Pulau, Bukit Mertajam, Permatang Pauh and Nibong Tebal.
“We hope the prime minister will announce the details tomorrow … on how many houses are targeted, the price and so on,” he told reporters here today.
Najib is scheduled to begin his visit tomorrow with a breakfast and a walkabout at the Bayan Baru market before launching the “Promises Fulfilled” tour at Universiti Sains Malaysia.
He is scheduled to attend a lunch with the people of Bayan Baru at the compound of the Bayan Baru Umno Division office. The prime minister is also scheduled to go on a walkabout in Tanjong Tokong.– Bernama
