KOTA KINABALU: More than 300 people gathered at Padang Merdeka here to protest the recent Israeli military raids in Gaza and to launch a fund to get medical aid to the victims of the attacks.
The protesters represented several non-governmental organisations, among them Aman Palestin Sabah, the National Muslim Youth Association (Pembina), the Perodua Viva Club and Sabah BLM Community.
The protest was staged with the cooperation of the Sabah Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim).
The principal of the Kundasang Islamic Training Centre, Nasrun Abdullah, launched the gathering. — Bernama
