Fire And Rescue Dept Holds Thanksgiving Ceremony

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Fire and Rescue Department on Thursday held a thanksgiving ceremony for its personnel, staff and officials who were bestowed with Honorary Medals in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 65th birthday held recently at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Kencana, Istana Nurul Iman, Borneo Bulletin reported.

A total of 64 Fire and Rescue Department officers and personnel were bestowed with the honorary medals recently.

Present at the thanksgiving ceremony was the Director of Fire and Rescue, Awg Yahya bin Hj Abdul Rahman. The ceremony began with the mass recitation of surah al-Fatihah, which was followed by the mass reading of Surah Yaasiin and the tahlil prayer, led by Ustaz Hj Adenan, Head of Religious Affairs at the department.

A representative of the recipients, Fire and Rescue Senior Commanding Officer Awg Hj Abdul Azis bin Hj Mohammad in his speech expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Majesty and hoped that the bestowment will further motivate the recipients to continue to work diligently in the future.

The ceremony ended with a doa selamat.
