KUCHING: Sarawak Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) emerged overall champions at the state-level Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture Sports Carnival 2012 which ended here yesterday.
The National Film Department of Malaysia finished first runners-up while the Information Department, second runners-up in the carnival which began on Dec 1.
The Sarawak bureau of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), one of the smallest contingents in carnival, clinched second place in badminton.
Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Md Yahya Basimin gave away the prizes.
Speaking at the close of the carnival, Md Yahya said the carnival was in line with the government’s aspiration to have healthy civil servants in the drive to implement the national development agenda. — Bernama
