Prior to the prize presentation, TelBru also made a donation of B$3,000 for the Children Cancer Association (YASKA). The donation was part of the registration fees for Let’s Extreme.

The winning team for the best video and for the tele-directories ‘Find It Fast’ challenge organised in conjunction with the event were also announced last night.

Some 400 teams consisting of two members (Troopers) started off by spending a whole day completing 24 physical challenges and activities to score extra points on December 7 at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre.

As a bonus to score points, Troopers were asked to complete an online quiz which started on November 17 and ended on November 24. Most of the questions required Troopers to visit historical venues such as the Royal Regalia building, the Brunei Museum, Brunei Technology Museum and Kampong Ayer Tourism Gallery.

During the previous two days, the Troopers completed clues and challenge sites, which started on December 8 at 9am and concluded yesterday at 7pm.

Many of the Troopers experienced extreme activities such as kayaking, parasailing, riding a flying fox, rock climbing, abseiling, rolling in a Zorb ball and tree planting.

Chief Marketing Officer of Telbru, Mr Lim Ming Soon said, “The challenges were made more extreme and challenging at the same time; putting physical and mental strengths to the test. Also, in the eight years that we have been running let’s’ events, this year was different because registration was open to the public where previously, one needed to be a TelBru customer in order to participate.

“It turned out to be the right decision as not only have we enhanced our rapport with our existing customers, we have also made new friends along the way.”

He also noted that the essence of the let’s’ campaign has always been in support of the tourism industry, contributing to His Majesty’s aspirations to promote healthier lifestyles for a healthier nation, testing our survival tactics and instincts, promoting local products, as well as emphasising TelBru’s green initiative.

“Apart from all the fun from the physical activities and extreme challenges, we are getting our Troopers to learn more about the history and facts of Brunei by exploring the unseen sceneries of Brunei along the way” he added.
