LIMBANG: Pre-tournament favourites Buangsiol C of the Neighbourhood Area (KRT) team emerged champion in the Seven-a-side Football Tournament at Kampung Buangsiol here yesterday.
They defeated the B on penalties 3-1, while their A squad came in third. A total of eight teams participated in the tournament.
As champion, the team took home a set of jerseys presented by the KRT Buangsiol chairman Tababang Pedi Amit.
Also present was Miri division Unity Officer Mohd Fakri Asmad.
According to Pedi, the competition was organised to provide an avenue for the participants to showcase their full potential and talents.
He also said that youths in his village are also capable to become successful athletes in the sports if they are determined to go far.
