Customs A emerges champion of Ten-Pin Open Bowling Challenge

MIRI: Customs A team representing Royal Malaysian Customs Department Miri emerged as the champion of the Ten-Pin Open Bowling Challenge Trophy 2012, held yesterday.

The bowling competition was organised by Sports and Welfares Club (SWC) of Malaysia Accountant Department (MAD) Miri branch.

Customs A team was represented by Jamari Yaman, Baharuddin Merikan, Rogayah Suhaili and Naising Bega, won the cash prize, challenge trophy and individual trophies after defeating a field of 35 teams.

The champion team recorded a total of overall 2211 point in the bowling competition which was held at Megalanes East Bowling Centre.

At the same time, Naising also won the ‘Best Bowler’ title after he managed to strike the most bowling pins at the competition.

The prize giving ceremony was attended by Political Secretary to Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Sebastian Ting.

Also present at the bowling competition was MAD Miri branch director, Gloria Angela James Noah and SWC chairman, Abdul Wahab Ahmad.

Meanwhile, the second and third places were won by Megalanes East Miri team and Filipino Bowlers Club of Miri (FBCOM) who received a cash prize and trophies.

Abdul Wahab said that this year’s participation was overwhelming which was also participated by teams from Bintulu and Sibu comprised government departments, agencies as well as private sectors.
