GAZA, Palestine: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Sunday gave words of inspiration to Kelab Putera 1Malaysia (KP1M) volunteers and reminded them to be careful in carrying out their tasks in countries facing conflicts.

KP1M president and captain of the mission, Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the words of inspiration was conveyed to him through a 10-minute telephone conversation with the prime minister.

Abdul Azeez said Najib, who was confident of the capability of all the 58 volunteers, urged them to carry out their tasks in a praiseworthy manner.

“Datuk Seri also wants all mission members in Palestine to help each other,” he said when conveying Najib’s message to mission members here.

Meanwhile, on the action by Israel in firing a warning shot to the Malaysian Solidarity Mission 2012 volunteers, Abdul Azeez said the volunteers would focus fully on the objective of the mission and avoid places of high risk.

“Besides being provided with bullet-proof vests, we remind the volunteers to be more aware of the risks posed by the zionists,” he said.

On Sunday, Utusan Malaysia reported that the Malaysian Solidarity Mission 2012 volunteers, who were on their way to deliver the Palestine Peace Fund for agricultural development near Jabaliah, about 3.5 km from Gaza, were given a warning shot by Israeli troops. — Bernama
