Saudi Arabian heads list of 304 federal award recipients

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah yesterday conferred the award, Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) (Honorary) to Saudi Arabian national, Syeikh Zuhair Abdul Hamid Mokhtar Sadayo at Istana Negara, here.

Syeikh Zuhair, who is the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s Muassasah Council for South East Asia, was the sole recipient of the award which carries the title Tan Sri.

He headed the list of 304 recipients of federal awards 2012 at the investiture in conjunction with the birthday anniversary of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Also gracing the ceremony was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.

Tuanku Abdul Halim also conferred the award Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) which carried the title ‘Datuk’ to the Head of the Medical Department of Sungai Buloh Hospital, Datuk Dr Christopher Lee Kwok Choong.

Other recipients of the PJN were Divisional Secretary of the National Nanotechnology Directorate, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations Prof Datuk Dr Halimaton Hamdan and the treasurer-general of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Datuk Samson Chin Chee Tsu.

One person was conferred the award Johan Mangku Negara (JMN), five received the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) and one received the Johan Setia Diraja (JSD).

Twenty-six people received the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN), 44 received the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) and 223 received the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN). — Bernama
