KUALA LANGAT: The prime minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor yesterday named and launched KD Gagah Samudera, the new Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) training vessel, at NGV Tech Sdn Bhd shipyard in Kampung Sijangkang here.

Also present at the ceremony were former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, RMN chief Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar and NGV Tech executive chairman Datuk Zulkifli Shariff.

KD Gagah Samudera is one of two RMN training vessels that reach 75.9 metre in length.

It was designed with the cooperation of NGV Tech and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering of South Korea. — Bernama
