Toddler drowns in Tawau

TAWAU:   A two-year-old boy drowned after falling into a river near his home in Kampung Titingan on Friday night.

District fire and rescue department chief Rudy Fredzen said, residents who assisted a search and rescue operation, recovered the toddler’s body about 9pm, about 30 minutes after his disappearance in the river.

“The body was found, not far from where the boy had fallen,” he told reporters yesterday.

He said, except for the victim’s four-year-old brother, the parents were away at the time of the incident.   – Bernama
