PASIR GUDANG: A request by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng that the party’s allies, PAS and PKR, give 13 additional seats to DAP in the 13th General Election would only fuel a rift in the opposition pact, said Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin.

The Pasir Gudang Umno division chief said the request also gave an impression that the party wanted to dominate the pact.

“I believe the DAP thinks it is the strongest party in the opposition pact.

“Thus, they dare to make such a claim.

“This will be the cause of feud among them,” he told reporters here yesterday.

Khaled, who is also higher education minister, was commenting on Lim’s statement on the party’s intention to contest three more parliamentary and 10 more state seats in the peninsula in the general election.

Lim, in his speech at the 16th DAP National Congress yesterday, had said the request for additional seats hinged on the spirit of friendship and sincerity towards PAS and PKR.
