MIRI: Minister of Rural and Regional Development Malaysia Datuk Sri Mohd Shafie Apdal promised to build a playground in Kampung Rancah-Rancah, Sibuti, but until today the project is nowhere to be seen.
PAS Sarawak deputy commissioner III and PAS Miri chief Jofri Jaraiee said villagers there had voiced their unhappiness to him, saying that the proposed playground site is overgrown with tall grass and bushes.
“Villagers there want the government to upgrade the village and make good the unfulfilled promises before the 13th general election,” Jofri disclosed after visiting Kampung Rancah-Rancah recently.
According to Jofri, most of the villagers, who are either farmers or fishermen, want the old wooden bridge to be repaired as soon as possible to reassure their safety.
Jofri claimed that during his visit the narrow cement road leading to the Kampung is cracked and only allows one vehicle to pass at a time and is dangerous as the side drain is deep.
