KUALA LUMPUR: Local football fans will have an opportunity to watch Liverpool FC play Tottenham Hotspur in action, live, at Anfield in the English Premier League (EPL) next March, courtesy of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad.

The bank has launched a digital competition where football fans would have to post a video, no longer than 90 seconds on YouTube, a video sharing site, on what football meant to them.

In a statement yesterday, its managing director and chief executive officer, Osman Morad, said two Centenary Stand tickets as well as an economy flight, all-expense paid trip to Anfield await the winner. A two-night accommodation stay and RM2,400 (£500) spending money are also part of the deal.

Interested participants will need to have a valid YouTube account, e-mail account and aged 18 and above, to qualify for this competition.

They can upload their film by submitting their URLs to the “90 Seconds to Anfield” YouTube channel via youtube.com/90secondstoanfield.com, until Jan 25, 2013.

The “90 Seconds to Anfield” competition is the first of many programmes lined up from December to July 2013, to give out Anfield 10 tickets to Malaysians.

“We know that Malaysia has a large football following. We understand what it is to build and sustain relationships, which is why we want to bring the excitement of the football season to Malaysians, especially to the loyal fans of Liverpool FC, by bringing the magic of Anfield a little closer to them,” Osman said. — Bernama
