KOTA KINABALU: Party Gerakan Sabah is mourning the loss of the party’s former president Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik, who passed away on Saturday.

State Liaison Chairman Datuk Gordon Leong Vui Cheung, when contacted yesterday, said that they had lost a great and humble statesman, leader and a friend who had contributed much not only to Party Gerakan but also to the country.

Party Gerakan Sabah would miss Tun Lim Keng Yaik’s good sense of humour and straight-forward no-nonsense and witty remarks and advice, he said.

According to Leong, Tun Lim, who was instrumental in the programme to re-invent Gerakan, would be best remembered by Gerakan Sabah as the president who made it possible for party to own its own headquarters building in Taman Fortuna.

“Our condolences and prayers are with his wife, Toh Puan Wong Yoon Chuan and his son, who is also Gerakan national youth chief, Datuk Lim Si Pin and family,” Leong said.

Leong added that Gerakan flags at Gerakan offices all over Sabah would be raised at half-mast as a sign of respect and honour of Tun Lim.
