KUCHING: State cycling coach Dzulkaflee Hassan commented that he is happy with the performances of the state cyclists at the 2012 Borneo Mountain Bike Challenge which was organised at the Taman Tumbina track, Bintulu.

With the state male cyclists securing first and second positions at the race, he hoped the cyclists remain as consistent as ever especially during the coming competitions.

“In cycling, we must go for as many exposures as we can. We did well today but I hope that our cyclists continue to challenge themselves to do better all the time as well,” he added.

Addy Shariman won first place in the main event of the race which is the MTB Cross Country Men’s Open category. The other state cyclist finished second in the race was Awang Adip Awang Safuan.

“Although we did well, I am not so satisfied with the conditions of the track. Had the track be in good condition, I think the cyclists can do much better,” said Dzulkaflee.

Dzulkaflee added that the race is just one of the series of tournament exposure for the state cyclist s in preparing for next Sukma games in Perlis.

For the record, the Borneo Mountain Bike Challenge (BMC) 2012 was organised by Malaysian National Cycling Federation (PBNS) in collaboration with Bintulu Resident’s Office and Bintulu Development Authority (BDA).
