WELL-DONE: Players of the top three teams pose for a photo call at the conclusion of the Sibu Open Seven-A-Side Soccer tournament in Kem Sri Rejang.

SIBU: Tanjung Lelenggau football team reigned supreme when the squad emerged as champion of the Sibu Open Seven-A-Side Soccer competition jointly organised by the Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Rajang branch and Territorial Army 510 Regiment which ended at Kem Sri Rejang here Sunday afternoon.

In the final, Tanjung Lelenggau trounced Rimba Hijau B 2-0.

Sakura overcame Ladong FC 1-0 for the third and forth placing.

Major Edmund Erong Tun Jugah of Territorial Army 510 Regiment officiated at the closing ceremony and presented the prizes to the winners. Also present was chairman of SDNU Rajang branch, Major Moses Ripai.

A total of 40 teams took part in the tournament which began on Dec 15.

The competition was organised to unearth new talents in football at Sibu Division level.
