KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) yesterday introduced the ‘Haj Withdrawal’ to enable EPF contributors to withdraw their savings up to RM3,000 from the Account 2 to pay for their haj pilgrimage effective Jan 1.

EPF Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations) Datuk Ibrahim Taib said the simple withdrawal without needing to fill any forms could be made by members below the age of 55 on condition that they had received the offer letter from the Haj Management Board (LTH) to perform the pilgrimage.

“However, members are reminded that the withdrawal can only be made once in a lifetime and only for those who don’t have enough savings in the LTH,” he said in a statement, here yesterday.

Ibrahim said in order to apply for the haj withdrawal, eligible members could go to any EPF branch and produce their identity card, LTH offer letter, and an updated LTH savings account book.

For further information, members could visit the myEPF website at www.kwsp.gov.my or contact the EPF Call Centre at telephone number 03-8922 6000. — Bernama
