SEREMBAN: A senior citizen was found dead and naked with both hands tied together and a sarong over his head at a
house in Jalan Rasah, here, yesterday.
The body of Edward Rajasooria Sebastian, 62, was found at about 9am in a room in the house by a police team.
Seremban police chief, ACP Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said, a neighbour of the victim had contacted the police after realising the man had not emerged from the house since yesterday evening.
“After receiving the call, several policemen went to the house and found the front door unlocked before finding the man’s body in a room.
“The neighbour said, normally, the man would leave the house in the evening for dinner at a stall nearby but her suspicion was aroused because she did not see the man since yesterday evening and thus she lodged a police report,” he said, here, yesterday.
He said, police suspected the bachelor, who lived alone, was a victim of a robbery, based on the mess in the house and a missing wrist watch and wallet.
Nevertheless, he said, the police had not been able to ascertain the cause of death as there were no injuries on the body.
The body had been sent for post-mortem at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, here. — Bernama
