BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Members of the public can now contribute their donations to the Gaza and Bopha Humanitarian Funds via SMS until February 9, 2013, Borneo Bulletin reported.
The SMS Brunei Prihatin campaign was launched yesterday to raise humanitarian funds for both Gaza and victims of Typhoon Bopha in the Philippines in a ceremony at Dewan Digadong of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in Jalan Kebangsaan.
Simply key in GAZA or BOPHA (without any spacing) followed by the amount you wish to contribute (to the value of 1, 5, 10, 15, or 20) and send it to 38111 for DST and B-Mobile subscribers or through the WAP PORTAL for B-Mobile customers.
For example, type GAZA20 for the Gaza fund or BOPHA20 for the humanitarian fund for the victims of Bopha in the Philippines.
This initiative is to give members of the public the opportunity to contribute their donations for those who are suffering in Gaza and the Philippines.
The latest SMS Brunei Prihatin campaign, a project between the Community Development Department ( JAPEM), Radio Television Brunei (RTB), DST and B-Mobile Communications Sdn Bhd, was established on December 10, and promotions for both the funds are sponsored by Regalblue Production.
Present at yesterday’s launching ceremony were the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Hazair bin Hj Abdullah and the Minister of Religious Affairs, Pg Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad bin Pg Hj Abdul Rahman, who is also the advisor for both funds.
Also present was Pg Dato Paduka Hj Bahrom bin Pg Hj Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, as well as permanent secretaries of the respective ministries and representatives from RTB, DST, B-Mobile Communications Sdn Bhd and Regalblue Production.
