KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Lagoon’s Waterplexx 5D has entered the Malaysia Book of Records 2012 as the first Waterplexx 5D in Malaysia, listed under the building and structure category.

In a statement yesterday, Sunway Lagoon said with a capacity of 36 people per ride, the ten-minute ride would bring riders through an animated action journey, experiencing everything from gusts of wind to a powerful gale.

“The Waterplexx 5D, which is now open daily from 10 am to 6 pm, is a water-based attraction which engages the rider’s sense of sight, sound and touch,” it said.

Its assistant general manager, Adron Leow, said Sunway Lagoon was proud and happy that Waterplexx 5D made it into the Malaysia Book of Records.

“To us, it is not only about getting the award, but it is the acknowledgement and recognition of our achievement.

“After 20 years of being a part of Malaysia, Sunway Lagoon remains distinct from other theme parks, with the Waterplexx 5D adding to our attractions,” he said.

Leow said the theme park would be introducing more exciting attractions for its visitors, with the ultimate aim of achieving a Guinness World Record for its attractions. — Bernama
